It’s been a while since I’ve been on the internet. All jobs have been crazy busy and a little dramatic lately. On Monday I found out that the start-up I’ve doing full time work for has decided to stop all development so I’ll be out of a job at the end of next week. My initial reaction was that the timing couldn’t have been worse - we’re supposed to be moving from Boston to Seattle in August and I’ll be starting my PhD at the end of September so with only two months in each place, it will be hard to get full time work at the same pay. However, I’ve come to see this as a good thing. I’m confident I can get some freelance web/Flash work to fill some of the time and yesterday I worked out that, if I charge the going rate instead of seriously undercharging as I have accidentally been doing, I only actually need to work a quarter of the time to make the same money. That will leave plenty of time to do some of the fun stuff I haven’t been able to get to, such as….

• Finishing Baby Milly’s blanket
• Making Sam a cowl/scarf/hat/something
• Turning the awesome material I bought months ago into some shorts and a dress
• Making the next round of improvements to my knitting application
• Making the iPhone app I have brewing in my head
• Actually reading some books on the Nook I got for Christmas
