I’m making good progress on my bridesmaid dress. I’m pretty confident it will be done in time now (I’m flying out in 2 weeks). This is the first dress I’ve made using a sewing machine, although I’m still hand sewing any visible bits as I haven’t quite mastered the straight line.
Tackling a big sewing project for the first time in a while has taught me two things:
1. Our next apartment must have a table. Crawling around on hardwood floors for three hours while working out a pattern and cutting material is bad for just about every bit of your body. I feel like I did some serious outdoor adventuring.
2. I really want to take a pattern drafting class or find a good book on the subject. I’m proud of what I can put together by guesswork/fudging but I could do with learning how to do these things properly.
